South Marmara Hydrogen Coast Platform

The South Marmara Region aims to serve as a model for Turkey by becoming the country’s first carbon-neutral region. In this context, green transformation activities will rapidly expand across all sectors, with a primary focus on industrial transformation, supported by new initiatives. Additionally, the region’s renewable energy potential will be utilized at the highest possible level.

Based on the Institutional Cooperation Protocol signed on February 15, 2022, by GMKA, Eti Maden, Enerjisa Üretim, TÜBİTAK MAM, and ASPİLSAN Enerji, the South Marmara Hydrogen Coast Platform will be established. The platform’s board of directors will consist of senior executives from the aforementioned protocol signatories. The chairperson of the platform will be elected through a vote held every two years.

The goal is to establish Turkey’s most comprehensive hydrogen platform

The platform will welcome new private sector representatives, NGOs, universities, and port operators wishing to join the hydrogen ecosystem, with a primary focus on regional organizations.
