Discussing the Future of Hydrogen at the 14th Türkiye Energy Summit on November 25-26, 2024
We had the honor of speaking at the 14th Türkiye Energy Summit on November 25-26, 2024, during a panel titled "Hydrogen in the Energy World of the Future." This insightful panel, sponsored by Tekfen Holding and moderated by Hakan Göral, President of Tekfen Group Companies, brought together prominent experts from the energy sector, including:
· Adnan Unal, General Manager of Linde Gaz Türkiye
· Prof. Selmiye Alkan Gürsel, Faculty Member at Sabancı University
· Çağatay Ölken, Director of Strategy and Sustainability at TÜPRAŞ
· Pedro Uhalde, Investment Officer at IFC (World Bank Group)
In the first part of the panel, we discussed the crucial role of green hydrogen and its transformative potential in building a sustainable energy future. In the second part of our discussion, we focused on HYSouthMarmara Hydrogen Shore, Turkey's first Hydrogen Valley Project. We explored how this innovative initiative aims to create a self-sustaining hydrogen ecosystem by integrating hydrogen production, storage, distribution, and applications.
HYSouthMarmara will contribute to:
- Developing a complete value chain for green hydrogen supply across various sectors in the region
-Supporting industrial decarbonization in the South Marmara region
-Harnessing local renewable energy resources for green hydrogen production
-Positioning Turkey as a global leader in the hydrogen economy
